Billboards with hanging dummies endanger Las Vegas motorists

GasBuddy Blog -- Sometimes ignorance is downright frightening. In Las Vegas Wednesday, vandals painted graffiti on billboards and left mannequins dressed in suits hanging from them in mid-air.

Think about that for a moment. You're driving along in any American city and you are suddenly shocked by what appears to be a dead man dangling from a hangman's noose.

According to Kyle Potter of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Nevada Highway Patrol said 911 calls started coming in at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday from drivers worried that the dummy they saw along Interstate 15 was a real person.

Police said the sign was a publicity stunt and a clear act of vandalism. Not only that, the same scenario appeared at two other billboards on public...

Anything that takes your eyes off the road - any billboard along the road - isn't a distraction? Do you pull over, stop, then read the ad, before pulling back onto the road and driving on...? It is a form of civil protest. Anyone remember the Boston Tea Party - the one were the 'protestors' trespassed onto private property (boarded privately owned merchant vessels) and destroyed private property (dumped unsold tea into Boston Harbor)? That was an act of protest against the [then British] government. If you saw the video footage of the billboards, in at least one of (three?), the 'dummy' is well above ground: DYING FOR WORK View from inside vehicle Outside of the fact it would be very difficult to raise a human body that high above the ground (top image), if it were a real hanging, why would you waste the additional time (raising it that high) and increase the risk of getting caught? HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WALL ST. Who ever did this, knew what they're doing, in the above image, the top line of text is pretty high up, relative to standing height on the access plank. And what if it was the billboard company owner?

But, it does drive a point about the lack of jobs in this country and the government seemingly not doing anything about it. And, Wall Street and Big Oil sucking the money out of what economy we have. Is this *Occupy Wall Street at work? They got their point across with TV news attention and this web site, so let's move on. Barry's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the good paying jobs are Not there. Barry's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continues to be down – no matter how smoooooth talking Barry spins those numbers and he can spin them very well! People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! Is this 'Billboards for Hanging Dummies' by Dirty Hairy Reed? It happened in Vegas, It stays in Vegas! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, has a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!
