Questions and more questions.
If these idiots were brought on trial on charges of threatening the nations "Energy Security", I'm sure a lot more things would be answered.
Tax money well wasted.

They will end up making money from the higher gas prices. A refinery fire in California causes gas prices to spike 15 cents in two days in Virginia.

Refineries are dangerous places, subject to fires, leaks and other problems. Any sort of shutdown will likely impact fuel prices.

Gasoline refining has to be the only business, where the customers are liable immediately for all extra expenses. (Fire= price up before the fire is even out!)

I see a lot of people are blaming Chevron and want them to be held accountable for their missteps. I remember when BP had their oil spill in the Gulf and The President made BP set up a clean up fund and the GOP led congress said the President was shaking BP down. Now the Gulf is coming back and BP is running warm fuzzy ads saying they are committed to making things right. Well with out the POTUS things would be alot different in the gulf. Cheveron should take personal responsibility for their actions since Corporations are people too! Right Mitt?

I've always been a "Suspicious Character".
Sometimes I think these mishaps just seem to happen right when the industry feels it's time for a hike.
Far too many times in Alberta we've had refinery fires in the spring right before the hike in gas prices for the summer.
Coincidence? Who is certain?

Make Chevron pay for the difference between normal prices and the inflated ones times the amount of gasoline sold. That should be a large enough fine that will make them think ten times before trying that again.

Sounds to me like they deliberately let it burn so the price would go up. GREEDY, GREEDY Acorns.

Even the EPA messed up, at first they said air levels were ok , then the next day they backed tracked and said air quality was not good.
